Hello everyone, My name is Chuy and I’ve been playing with this idea in my head for a a few years now. It all started while visiting the Gardening Center at my local Home Depot, The thought of what would it be like to run a plant nursery of my own? then I started picturing the layout of the store with different biomes themed after the types of plants.
So I got home and started modelling some of the stuff in 3DS Max. I ended up with a couple of rad looking plants in just a few hours. Happy with my plants I went to bed thinking how it would of looked with nice lighting and vibrant colors… So the next day I made a new UE4 project and ended up with a nice looking scene I could share on Instagram.
But then the ideas came rushing like a flood into my head. It was too late I’m afraid and my journey to start one of the most exiting projects in my life had begun that day.
From one room full of plants, grew into a small outdoor nursery, then I went a little crazy and created a whole town.. you know plants need space. And so my notebook started to look like this
Filled with Ideas for a game, so everything was becoming more clear on what I wanted to experience If this was a video game. With time I had to get a second notebook.
And so 2 years later, this is where I’m at. I made the decision to make this project a learning experience. I’m not a programmer and so it seemed impossible for me to create a video game. But I took small steps at a time.
Later on I will go more in depth, This post is just to share how it all started.
What started as a quick way to satisfy my creative hunger, ended up as the most important goal in my life so far. I’m thankful every day that I have the opportunity to be doing this. The goal of this blog is to share what I’ve learned and to share the progress of my project. I still have ways to go but like everything else, one step at a time.
I hope this can also serve to someone else as a encouragement or inspiration, just like many other artist out there keep me inspired and gives me hope that anyone can create wonders if it’s something that comes from your heart and goes into the world with love.
